Ember pre-seasoned cast iron comes with its first layer of seasoning already applied using grapeseed oil, so you don’t have to start from bare iron. With regular cooking and occasional light re-seasoning, the surface continues to improve.
Yes, we recommend a quick starter seasoning. After washing and drying the pan: • Heat the pan on medium heat for a few minutes • Apply a thin layer of oil • Heat briefly until you see light smoke • Let it cool and wipe away excess oil This helps build the seasoning and prepares the surface for cooking.
Yes. The cooking surface of our Pre-seasoned Cast iron can rust if left wet or stored damp. It comes with a rust-resistant exterior. Drying the pan thoroughly after washing helps prevent rust.
Yes. Ember cast iron contains no chemical non-stick coatings and is seasoned with food-safe oil.
No, this is classic cast iron with a reactive surface. We do not recommend cooking acidic foods like tomato, tamarind gravies in our Pre-seasoned cast iron.
Wash with warm water and a soft sponge. Mild soap is fine. Avoid soaking the pan and always dry it thoroughly after washing. We recommend using the Ember EasyDry wipe to dry your cookware.
