Abrasion Test

In abrasion test, the pan is filled with a variety of mixtures and items like chrome-steel balls, water and abrasive minerals like corundum. The pan is shaken and spun at high RPMs and assessed every 15 minutes. Finally, the non-stick performance is tested with food items like pancakes and burnt milk.

Coating Scrub Test

This test measures a coatings resistance to constant scrubbing. The vertical load on the scouring pad is set at 4kg, and the scouring pad is changed every 10,000 strokes. Our technicians document the number of cycles that are required to scrape the coating down to bare metal in order to gauge the abrasion resistance of the non-stick system.

Handles Fatigue Test

In this test, the pan is filled in with an extra load and undergoes 15,000 cycles of up and down. The test wants to ensure that the cookware handle and its fixing system won’t have any permanent distortion or loosening over time.

Egg test

In dry-egg test, single eggs are added to a preheated pan without oil and cooked for 2.5 minutes. The effort to release the egg is measured on a 5 to 1 scale with 5 being easy to remove. The test is repeated until the egg no longer lifts easily from the pan, indicating diminishing non-stick performance.

Committed to Sustainable Practices

Ember is deeply committed to using best practices that will reduce their carbon footprint. We are dedicated to safeguarding our planet while creating cookware you adore. Our Ember 2030 initiative aims to achieve both goals.

By emphasising recycled and renewable materials, utilising clean electricity, and adopting low-carbon shipping methods, we are striving to reduce our net emissions to zero across our entire carbon footprint.
