Abrasion Test
In abrasion test, the pan is filled with a variety of mixtures and items like chrome-steel balls, water and abrasive minerals like corundum. The pan is shaken and spun at high RPMs and assessed every 15 minutes. Finally, the non-stick performance is tested with food items like pancakes and burnt milk.
Coating Scrub Test
This test measures a coatings resistance to constant scrubbing. The vertical load on the scouring pad is set at 4kg, and the scouring pad is changed every 10,000 strokes. Our technicians document the number of cycles that are required to scrape the coating down to bare metal in order to gauge the abrasion resistance of the non-stick system.
Handles Fatigue Test
In this test, the pan is filled in with an extra load and undergoes 15,000 cycles of up and down. The test wants to ensure that the cookware handle and its fixing system won't have any permanent distortion or loosening over time.
Egg Test
In dry-egg test, single eggs are added to a preheated pan without oil and cooked for 2.5 minutes. The effort to release the egg is measured on a 5 to 1 scale with 5 being easy to remove. The test is repeated until the egg no longer lifts easily from the pan.

You Asked,We Answered
How is the Ember non-stick coating different from others?
Our non-stick is made from natural ingredients which are all 100% safe to use in contact with all foods. Plus, the absence of potentially dangerous chemicals like PTFE (Teflon®), PFOA, PFAS, Lead, and Cadmium means that there is no chance of harmful materials leaching into your food, even if you accidentally scratch or overheat your pan.
Does the non-stick wear over time?
Ember's proprietory coating process ensures that the coating lasts longer. However, all non-stick coatings slowly wear off given frequent use. Just like your favorite pair of shoes, the more you use them the faster they wear out. But with delicate care and cleaning, Ember cookware is designed to last years!
Will the outer colour of the pan become dull with time?
The outer colour of the cookware will remain as it is for years if you follow all our care instructions.
Do Ember products have a warranty?
Our cookware products have a five-year warranty covering any major damage to the body, handles, lids, or anything else that functionally impairs the cookware, other than discoloration or damage through wear and tear.
What type of tools should I use with the cookware?
Wooden, silicone, plastic, or nylon utensils are all great to use with your Ember products! Avoid using rough, sharp edges of metal utensils as they can damage the non-stick coating.
